Hafod Lydan Self Catering Farmhouse Situated on a genuine working farm
The main farmhouse is now available to rent, for weekly, or weekend bookings. Ideal for team building breaks, birthdays, or family get togethers. Suiting the outdoor type who wants more home comforts than camping has to offer! As with the campsite, the property opens straight onto open countryside, so if its mountain and moorland walking you are after, there is no need to drive any where once you arrive. There are miles of walking to be done, from 5 minute evening strolls to see the waterfall, to all day treks. The house is set 650 feet above sea level and commands panoramic views of the Llanberis lake and of 'Elidir' and her sisters 'Y Garn' and the 'Glyderau', all the way around to Snowdon. It offers a good solid base to plan your holiday from, being central to North Wales in general. The property is self catering. Although there are plenty of 'eat out' places in the village. This is just a 10 minute walk down the hill. Sleeping up to 12 in 5 rooms. An extra 2 on sofas could be accomodated) Also has a seperate annexe, the old wash-house, sleeping an extra 3 or 4. En suite shower and toilet, and basic cooking, microwave and kettle with tea/coffee making facilities. Whole house could be a max of 18 people. One room kingsize bed, one room 2 x bunbeds, 1 room with bunks, and one room has 2 singles. Downstairs lounge with double sofa bed. It is minimum occupancy of 8, unless by arrangement, but a charge will be applied for under occupancy. Fully equipped farmstyle kitchen, with slate worktops , kettle, toaster, dishwasher, Electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. Dining room, seats 12, with wood burning stove. The woodburner also doubles as a hob for cooking or keeping saucepans warm, ideal for homemade soups or broth. 1 Lounge with wood burning stove, sofa, TV and DVD. One lounge with sofa doubling as bedroom, with a comfy double sofa bed. Upstairs shower room, with walk-in shower, toilet and basin. Downstairs, small shower/wet room, toilet and basin. (this room is a functional but basic wet room) The house is fully oil centrally heated, regulated by a thermostat. The house heating can also be run off the woodburner in the main lounge. The property is situated higher up the road from the campsite, and is totally private, no camping is available at the farmhouse. It is situated in the midst of a working farm, so during your stay you will be able to get a taste of life on a working farm. During summer the sheep are gathered off the mountains, sheared and sorted. During the winter the cattle are housed in the sheds and then graze the mountain pastures during the summer. Spring time is lambing time so there are usually lots of lambs to be seen chasing each other round the fields. Although no farm activity is guaranteed to take place during your stay. The inside of the house is clean and warm, and all newly renovated, and furnished to a comfortable standard. Outside however is an ongoing project, a continuation on our plans for more holiday accomodation, involves renovating the origianal farm buildings which modern farming methods have made redundant. Sadly, the same as most old farm buildings, they look the worst for their age, and we hope to start restoring them in the near future. There is a large level parking area and walkway to the house, the farmhouse has its own private garden area with patio area and log store. Due to the nature of ongoing works and close proximity to the farm yard we are afraid that we cannot accept young children or dogs to stay in the house unless by prior agreement that they will be under strict control not to wander around the farm yard or building site. The farmland stretches over hundreds of acres of peaceful mountainside, ideal for relaxing. Bird and wildlife watching. Peregrines and buzzards are a common sight, as well as so many other small birds, too numerous to mention. The woodpecker is a regular in the woods, as well as owls and jays. Secure bike storage on request.
Ample parking space. Booking must be made over the phone, and a deposit paid on booking, with the full amount to be in hand 3 weeks before your stay. We are able to accept card payment and cheque. Beds are fully made up with clean sheet, duvets and pillows. You are welcome to bring your own extra pillow, duvets or sleeping bags. £350 set charge for a friday/saturday 2 night weekend. £120 for an extra night, either thursday or sunday. Mid week short break, £300 for 2 nights then £120 extra night. Annex only, £50 weekend night for 4, or £40 weekday night. You can arrive from 2pm on day of arrival, and we do like you to vacate by 10am on day of departure. If no one else is booked in you may be able to stay later on a sunday. Breakages deposit/bond refundable may be requested. Repayable 1 week after departure, applies mainly to young peoples groups or stag/hen/birthday parties.
