FACILITIES

Facilities and rules

We aim to provide a decent 'basecamp'  for the outdoor enthusiast, offering showers, toilets and drying facilities. This is  a working farm campsite, we do not provide any type of entertainment or childrens play facilities.

Farm activities are seasonal, and some weather dependant, you are welcome to email for more info if interested in coming to stay when we are shearing or lambing etc.

Lambing is during March, shearing will be sometime during July.

We now have some new arrivals,  Kune Kune pigs, and piglets. Also some pot bellies, and other mix breed pigs. They are not kept close to the camping fields, and if you would like to see them you are welcome to ask, we will let you know you where they are grazing.

We do not provide any shop facilities, the village is only half a mile away, and has all the groceries/supplies you will need during your stay, we  encourage you to support the local community.

We do have fresh free range eggs available from the farm.

The main campsite facilities are at the cottage near reception and are easily accessible from all pitches on the site, the 'Top' and 'Lower' field being more convienient for the showers and laundry rooms.

Reception is at the cottage, please call here first to sign in and let us know which field you want to stay on. During busy periods in the summer there are extra fields in use, spreading the site so as to avoid overcrowding. No groups are allowed on any of the fields lower down than the reception unless we allocate space for you on them.

If you do set up on these fields you will be asked to move.

Main Reception area offers...

Centrally heated shower and toilet room. With shaver point in gents.

Showers take a 50p coin, fixed temperature, last 5 minutes.

New shower block with disabled toilet and shower, all new showers take £1 coin

Drinking water point.

Heating is only on in the colder months, or during cold and wet spells in summer.

Drying room, equipped with tumble dryer, this room is heated and has clothes airers and hooks for drying wet over clothes. (There is also a large tumble dryer and washing machine available for sleeping bags etc. in a seperate area)

Iron and board, hairdryer, and baby bath available from house on request.

Small kitchen type area with microwave, fridge and freezer, and electric point for charging phones, blowing up air beds, hairdryer etc.

Kitchen sink for washing dishes, pots and pans.

Large sink for washing boots or over clothes.

Information on walks in the area and other tourist attractions.

There is a good mobile phone reception from our campsite, most networks are available, if yours does not work and you need to phone home, or in an emergency etc., you are welcome to use the house phone.

We will charge phones for you in the house, and in return, expect you to drop a donation into an air ambulance or mountain rescue box when you see one.

On the top field..the favorite for most, and the most authentic for proper campers!

Due to there being no mains electric or water on the top field, we have a toilet block that does not have hot water, it is clean and tidy and there is loo roll, and there is a large sink with cold tap for hand washing, or if you prefer bring hand wipes. 'Traditional' campers do like this arrangement, if you think this may be a problem for you do ask for a pitch on the lower field, but please take note that this field is just as close to the toilets, hot water and showers as some pitches on the lowerfield,  and has better all round views!

A larger kitchen area is now available, with space for cooking with your own gas stoves, and an indoor eating area.

During wet or windy weather please DO use the shed for cooking with gas stoves.

DO NOT cook in your tent using a gas stove or any other flamed appliance.

Drying area, you are welcome to leave tents to drip dry in the shed, remember to come back and collect them later on in the day! There is nothing worse than packing a wet tent, forgetting about it, and then opening a mouldy smelly tent the next time you go camping.

Campfires and BBQ'S are allowed, we ask for you to be cautious and sensible when making fires, and to respect the area and other campers by not building fires all over the field, but PLEASE  use the designated areas.

There is a nightly charge for a campfire, includes one box of wood, usually lasts for  about 2 or 3 hours.

All fires and BBQ's should be allowed to die down and be fully extinguished by the time you go to bed.

Bricks are available for putting pre pack BBQ's on. Please do not remove stones from the walls.

Do not put hot BBQ's in or near the bin. put them in the steel box provided. Thanks.

Rules and regs. for campfires are displayed in the toilets and laundry room, please read them.

The new toilet block has taken the place  of our recycle bins, so the bins at the moment are situated in the car park, it is  a bit messy,  but it will be sorted out soon so 2010 will be easier for you and us to recycle your rubbish!

All your rubbish is recycled, and we ask for your help by keeping all glass, cans and plastic drinking bottles seperate from the rest of your rubbish. There are seperate bags for plastic, steel cans, cardboard and paper, and any aluminium cans or BBQ's.

Please put all you glass in the RED bin provided, squash all your cans and put them  in the large white bags. Squash your plastic bottles too please, they take up less space in the bin.

We do have a limited rubbish collection here, as the big bin lorry does not come up the hill, therefore it is appreciated if you take large bulky items or broken tents home, thanks.

When visiting the village we recommend that you walk down, especially if you are going to be down there for a while. We are just as close to the village centre as the village car parks, and at busy times of the year you cannot guarantee getting street parking. Make sure on your way up or down from/to the village you are respectful to the neighbouring houses/people, other road users and other campers, any persons found to be creating a nuisance on site or locally will be asked to leave the campsite.

No money will be refunded if you are asked to leave.

Access statement

Llwyn Celyn Bach

From the gateway to the property, it is tarmac all the way to the reception, a slope of about 20% for approx 3 metres, half way along the track to reception area, then level to a level slate patio. The access to the main car park is tarmac gently sloping down on to hard a standing level area. there is a gateway leading onto the lower field which has level area for approx 15 pitches, 3 of these are suitable for assisted wheel chair access(weather permitting). The field then slopes down considerably to two areas large enough for about 5 tents each, these areas would not be suitable for wheel chair access. The top field is accessed by a tarmac track to the centre of the field, then its just grass! The toilet facility on top field is accessed via a concrete step of about 9 inches.

The main facilities have level access, no step, doors are standard size. Showers have a 60mm step up into them. Laundry room has a 25cm step up into it, over a wooden door sill.

At the time of writing this we do appologise for not having a disabled toilet or shower, although we now have planning permission for our disabled facility, and will be building ASAP. There will be provision for disabled parking, facility, and 3 camp  pitches all easy access.

It may sound a bit obvious but......Remember to bring a torch with you for walking around at night, remind anyone coming with you to bring one too. Wellies are also a good idea!

Good waterproofs are a must incase you experience the lovely welsh weather.

Please do wear shoes when walking around the campsite.

We accept no liability for anyone getting hurt or injured on the property. We accept no liability/resposibility for loss of personal property, damage to vehicles, or any other unforeseen circumstances. Being a farm enviroment there is always the risk of animals wandering into fields through gates which have been left open, we do not accept any responsibility for damage to vehicles or tents, accident or illness to customers in respect of these events.

Lost/left property will be kept on the premises for a period of one year. Unless claimed, and reunited in this time, it will be donated to a charity shop.

If you think you may have left something here email us, we will check for you, and then we can arrange its return.

Main items waiting to be reunited at the moment....

Souvenier T shirt of the snowdon marathon, we found it, please get in touch.  Also found the lost black jacket, sue and robin davies, but lost your number!

 Now for a few rules......

You will need to sign in at the reception.

Name and car reg.

There is a no noise policy after 10pm, this has changed from 11pm. In answer to your enquiries regarding 'what does no noise mean', it means NO noise, we don't mind quiet chit chat in the tents or round the campfire, but we do not want other campers disturbed by radios, loud music, shouting/loud laughing, etc.

Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control. They must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on the camp fields.

This is a livestock farm and even the best behaved pet dogs can turn into 'wolf' mode when confronted by a sheep or a hen for the first time.

There are free range hens, ducks, sheep, lambs, pigs, cattle and calves, and horses roaming on the upper farmland and we do not want them to be chased!

No generators are allowed, if you are booking a large group onto one of the seperate fields you can arrange it with us first.

STRICTLY...No Fireworks or chinese lanterns...they can be extremely dangerous around tents, do scare the animals, and could cause serious damage to the surrounding countryside.

Campfires must be a sensible distance from your tent, at least 6 metres, and not inside a gazebo! mmm..and must be fully out before you go to sleep.

Leave 6 metres between yours and other peoples tents.

No cooking with flamed appliances, or BBQ's inside or near your tents.

Groups of 20 or more need to book in advance.

Any rowdy groups will be asked to quieten down or to leave.

We also do not want to see children (or anybody) throwing stones at the livestock or any of the buildings. Stone walls cost a lot to repair, and can be very dangerous when damaged, children climbing on them will not be tolerated. If you/they do you will be asked to leave, and any camp fees paid, will not be refunded.

For your convenience there are portable toilets placed on the fields that are further away from the main block. They are regularly serviced and are at the field entrances. Also available for groups on the seperate fields.
